So times are tough,
you think you’ve had enough:
that’s just when to look around
for opportunity.
Trippin along the sidewalk,
growin through a crack,
somehow, against all odds
I discover what I’d not see
if I hadn’t been looking
~~ it’s serendipity.
Despite the lack of tending,
no gardener’s loving mending,
the feet that missed its fragile bloom,
still, it lifted its head toward the sun,
and became what it needed to be:
it found its way through
all that adversity,
so unlikely,
and blossomed into a rose.
