Age has allowed me to back up, to view through a widened lens, to appreciate the chaos of my youth, and to make unnecessary the clarification of the present. Age has emboldened me not to be fearless, but to embrace fear for what it is. What a surprise that fear, then, loses its power and transforms into acceptance and peace.

Janet, Haven’t seen you around in a while. Hope all is well.
Read this post again and my comments. Interesting reading this again!
Lovely post, yet again, my friend. You know how to make my day!
Thanks, Terri!
This is so great – I am beginning to think about age like this too but not so eloquently!
Thanks, Jules!
You are a fantastic writer, Janet.
By the way, I sentya two emails..Did you get them?
Yes, and thanks! Just haven’t gotten to writing a reply back to you! Thank you soooo much!
Ooh, this is so timely and wise. Just today as I got in the van with my s/o to go to the city, I suddenly felt fear, and I watched it. I realized I felt vulnerable about the unexpected. Once, I acknowledged and shared with my s/o I was feeling fearful because of prior sudden challenges, the fear oddly left me. I didn’t fall deeper into the fear.
Yes. That’s been a wonderful discovery for me!
One of the positive side effects of age. I like it!
Me, too!!!
Well put, Janet. Acceptance of the “what is” transforms FEAR to PEACE.
Got it, Nancy–it was in the “spam” folder. Hope you can get through more easily in the future! Thanks!
