hiding life
the looker sees
nothing there.
Scraggly limbs,
sans limbs,
brittle tower
standing stark.
Turning season
into Spring,
tiny bulbs,
invisible, bring
tender green
grow, imperceptibly,
then blossom
into color.
Limbs, once seemed dead,
lift, smothered
with flower burst,
suddenly open
with fruit
that nourish,
give life,
give beauty.
Slowly turn,
begin the process again,
seeming dead,
then come alive,
again with time.
So we do.
Life gives life
once again.
Life lived once,
returns to live
another blossom,
appearing the same.
But, another,
slightly changed.
We come and go,
we die, then live,
over and over again.
Until, finally,
we perfect
that blossom
we’ve come to be.
Then drop
to the forest floor,
die, and rise
to another realm,
where we’ll begin
another perfection again.

U never never cease to amaze me
You are sweet. Thanks for stopping by so often. I love your blog, as well ! You have, not only the talent of a wordsmith, but the artist talent (which I envy, and lack) of drawing, painting, it’s amazing!
Go the the original “Be Here”, and “Rebirth” in my blogroll titles. These are incomplete reposts. Thanks!!
Happy New Year and that was an amazing poem if I write a poem it often rhyme.
thank you for stopping by and taking the time to comment! I continue to enjoy your blog entries! (Sometimes my poems rhyme, others not; it depends on the flow going on inside of me, as I am writing.)
oh. my..
I was just pondering the Buddhist idea of reincarnation, wondering again and again, if it is true for me and if so is my mother now in the Bodhi contemplating her next incarnation.
This is a beautiful poem which captures the wishes of those who mourn and wisdom for those of us still alive.
thank you and happy new year!
Jen
